Zentangled -- Numbers for tables

All five finished, with the Easels.
I am going out on a limb. lol We have presentations we are putting on through work and every year I do the flower arrangement for the check in table and I do the table flowers that have a number on them so that we know we get everyone exactly where they need to be.

Usually hot gluing and arranging flowers is really no big deal so I don't think much of it.

This year I decided to go a little different direction with the table numbers. I have taken 5" tiles and put block numbers on them and have Zentangled the numbers. The reason this  is me going out on a limb is because I drew them, I put them together.....if they think they are terrible and look like a childs drawing I will be mortified. lol. I finished them off with a polyurethane spray because I have found on the tile if you do not seal it it scratches and lightens.
1,2 & 3 -----Three is my favorite.

3, 4, & 5!
I think they turned out really good. I wanted easels for them so I was going to get wooden pegs and glue them together, but while hat the hardware store I saw HUGE nails....I didn't even know they made them that big. I decided on 8" nails and put them together with wire (the same used for the ornaments).

I added some hotglue on the tile where it touched the easels so that the tiles wouldn't fall and could be transported to the venue.

After I am done I am going to take the 2, 3, 1 (the 3 is my favorite) and my husband is going to make a cedar tray and we are going to fix them on the house for our house numbers.

I am so proud. I hope you all like them too. The nails were 16¢ each so a whole lot cheaper than the wood.
Again all five, better light.

Chainmail

So you get a ton of jump rings and you create. You can make jewelry, decorations, ornaments....all kinds of things. You can also decorate.

BRMC had a Sisterhood of the Traveling Bras contest. This is my entry. Breast Cancer Warrior!

Once again my daughter helped, she did the duct tape swords across the top. In the center is a shield with the breast cancer awareness ribbon. The rest of the bra is jump rings put together and made into strings to look like chainmail. Then I did some dangles to string off the bottom and at the end are charms that say Joy, Love & Peace.

It didn't win any big contests but I enjoyed doing it and I received alot of positive feed back.

Beading With Friends

Scary isn't she.....Her name is Lavern!
Here lately the leaders for our Pack have been getting together to fellowship and just have a great time...Usually Rockband comes into the mix...but the last two times crafting has come into the mix. The guys go off and talk man talk and the ladies, well the time before last we were teaching two others to Zentangle, last night we pulled out beads and figured out how to make Praying Mantis's out of beads. lol so much fun and it was very relaxing, trying to figure out how to use this new skill for good and not evil. In other words for scouts. I know they are green, but Holly and Lauren were using all the green beads so I decided to be different and make a Purple (my favorite color) Early Longhorn Mantis.

Runs in the family

My daughter is very talented too, I just wanted to share this photo cutout board she did for her brothers birthday last year "super hero boot camp" The boys loved it and now we use it a cub scout events as a distractor. The scouts and siblings love to have their parents take their photo in it.

She did all of this free hand and painted free hand. Flash and Dr. Doom.

Christmas Ornaments

Every year we do family stockings for all the kids and the adults. I try to have an new ornament every year. Here are some photos of the ones we did this last  year. They were easy and you just can not mess them up. I could watch TV late at night and get about 10 done an hour. Plus each one is different, even if you tried to make them the same it would be. lol

This one is done with beads and wire

These were done with wire, beads and jump rings.
Once again another craft my daughter and I do.

Paracord--Survival

So here is a photo of some of what I do with paracord. My daughter and I love to do these crafts together and if you look online you can find lots of sites with directions. If you look at my favorite links there is a link to a great one.

This started out that we saw the bracelets in support of police and firefighters, the prices were $30 & $40 and I thought "Hey I could make that" Now I do, we have taught some of these to the cub scouts, my daughter sells them at school for $10 each for extra cash. (I didn't realize she was until I was running out of paracord) but bravo to her. lol

My first entry

Wow, this is a first for me. I have friends who complete craft challenges and then post them on their blogs so that they can include them on the other blogs or posts... :) So that is why I started this one. Hopefully inspiration will strike and I will actually have some pretty awesome stuff to post. We will see.
